The Securitas Group has acquired a majority stake in Listec GmbH, based in Isen near Munich. The company is a leading developer and manufacturer of sensor cables for temperature monitoring. One year after Listec joined the Securitas Group, an unbelievable mark has been passed in the production of sensor cables.
The Munich-based technology company Listec has retained its independent corporate identity, 30 employees and thus its leading expertise. Listec products are highly regarded for fire protection in tunnels, industry, energy generation and potentially explosive areas. The high-quality line-type heat detectors are sold in Germany by Listec GmbH itself and in Switzerland by Securiton. For international marketing, the existing global partner networks of Listec and the Securitas Group are coordinated with each other.
2,000,000 metres of cable
This mark – an impressive two thousand kilometres – has been exceeded by Listec just one year after joining the Securitas Group. The cable was developed in the 1980s for monitoring leaks in district heating pipelines. Originally a flat cable, it became round in 1990. As part of quality management at Listec, all production steps are precisely recorded and thus also the volume of cables produced. In the past ten years alone, more than one hundred thousand hybrid sensors have been installed on cables for the tunnel fire detection system. This step is carried out at Listec in Isen near Munich, with the cable extrusion itself carried out with the support of Listec personnel at a cable plant in Nuremberg. Listec sensor cables are used all over the world and are highly regarded for fire protection in tunnels, industry, energy generation and potentially explosive areas.
