2009 SecuriFire – twice as much fire protection

With the upcoming launch of the new SecuriFire, Securiton is setting new standards in reliability and presenting a fully redundant fire detection system for double the protection against fire. In addition to the active system, an autonomous secondary system operates in parallel, which seamlessly assumes full operation in the event of a failure.

Until now, broken wires and other damage could have put a fire alarm system out of action. If a fire breaks out during this time, the fire would have far-reaching consequences in addition to the immediate hazards and damage.

Seamless operation despite total failure

SecuriFire detects fires and initiates appropriate measures, even if the functional conditions are no longer met. Behind this performance lies a design that leaves nothing to chance. All hardware and software components of the system – from the microprocessor and cable lines to the operating system – are available in redundant design. In addition to the active system, an autonomous secondary system operates continuously in hot standby mode. If the active system fails, the secondary system seamlessly takes over full operation. An incipient fire is detected in an instant – even if the fire alarm system is damaged due to several wire breaks. The term “system failure” is then a thing of the past.

High flexibility thanks to decentralised architecture

According to the SecuriFire principle, up to 16 control panels are connected to each other redundantly and thus form a homogeneous overall system – without a superordinate computer. Each individual element of this overall system can be monitored and operated from any indication and control map. For example, a fire detector mounted at a distance of four kilometres away can be operated conveniently at the touch of a button. The inner workings of the control panels are also impressive thanks to their simplicity: All units are connected here simply via plug connections.

Lightning-fast response guaranteed

In an emergency, SecuriFire immediately sends alarm signals – either directly to an alarm control panel or to a superordinate operations management system. Thanks to the new operating panel with large colour display and the fire brigade map, the emergency services on site are kept fully up to speed with the situation. If SecuriFire automatically actuates an extinguishing system after detection, fires can be dealt with even faster.
