The growing importance of video technology in security technology has prompted Securiton to strengthen in the field of video sensor technology. To do this, it has taken over Industrie Technik IPS GmbH in Munich. The company will now be affiliated with Securiton GmbH in Achern, Germany.
As a specialist for intelligent video image analysis, IPS has made a name for itself in the industrial security and monitoring of high-security areas. Its customers include companies with larger buildings such as airports, shopping centres, prisons, nuclear power plants and transport centres. With a new, powerful CCTV product range and many years of experience in the planning and production of video surveillance systems, the company has been able to assume a leading role in this market segment.
Success story
IPS launched the world’s first motion detector back in 1970. In several development stages, the application became a purely electronic solution and is now known as video sensor technology. Thanks to analogue image processing, it is able to trigger an alarm when movements have exceeded certain criteria. In 1990, the IPS team began researching completely new evaluation methods. 1995 saw the unprecedented development of the world’s first system-capable video sensor with tracking technology. This was followed in 2004 by state-of-the-art 3D video tracking sensors and hybrid crossbars (control devices for switching different signal sources to one or more consumers) for analogue and digital video technology.
Always up to date
Due to current risk situations, IPS has focused its development work on the detection of left baggage in local and long-distance transport as well as on the detection of graffiti activities. At the “Security 2006” trade fair in Essen, Germany, the company presented its latest video analysis and video management system based on IP technology. With its modular structure, this multifunctional software solution covers all aspects of video technology, from transmission to analysis and recording. With Industrie Technik IPS GmbH, Securiton is acquiring a technology leader with a strong range of CCTV products. Securiton is already active in this field with a video-based early fire detection system and is thus strengthening its commitment to an area of security technology with above-average growth potential. The highly motivated and experienced staff at IPS ensures competent consultation and planning.
