Securisoft was founded on 6 December 1988 as a subsidiary of Securitas, Securiton and Hekatron, and commenced operations on 1 January 1989 with former Securiton employees. In addition to the traditional, separate areas with intrusion/hold-up and fire alarm systems, Securiton has recently become increasingly active in the field of holistic solutions. In other words, the customer no longer receives a solution that only covers part of their security needs, but instead an integrated solution for the most diverse problem areas of intrusion, fire, water, and so on.
Why a new company?
Early on, we recognised the need to integrate and control these different systems in a uniform way. This is why the lLS information and management system was launched, which has since been installed in numerous locations in Switzerland and abroad (I, D, NL).
However, operating a system like this is complex and time-consuming. With this in mind, the Executive Board decided to set up its own company for this special area, not least to demonstrate to the outside world how important this topic is for the Group. Incidentally, these efforts have now been stepped up at Securiton with the launch of the Overall Systems area with former Ascom employees, which has already become fully operational.
The main purpose of Securisoft is, however, to construct information and management systems, as the following extract from the commercial register makes clear: “Development, manufacturing, sales and maintenance of software for information and management systems in the field of safety and hazard detection technology; planning, engineering, sales, adaptation and maintenance of information and management systems.”
The products
The ILS range is Securisoft’s contribution to the field of information and management systems:
In addition to these main products, Securisoft is also active as a service provider for the Group and third parties. For example, a printed circuit board was developed for Hekatron that enables several fire alarm control panels to be connected to an ILS. A software package is currently being developed for Securitas that will allow radio traffic to be easily monitored in surveillance service. In other words, we try to find flexible solutions to problems that do not fit exactly into the remit of larger companies.
Names and meaning
After the decision was made to start a new company, all that was needed was to find the right name. The part “SECURI” was obvious. But how should the name end? The decision was made in favour of SecuriSOFT because it came closest to the company’s idea.
The focus is thus on SECURIty on the one hand, but also on the manufacturing of SOFTware.
Organisation/employees
The most important asset in a company, however, is its employees and their expertise. We take account of this by making the work interesting and the working atmosphere as pleasant as possible (flexible working hours and, in some cases, place of work, reduced administrative work, etc.).
The organisation of this new company should not be unnecessarily inflated, which is also reflected in the organisational chart. Communication is faster and team spirit greater when there are no large hierarchies. While it remains to be seen whether this experiment is worthwhile, we are confident that it will be a success.
